A Lahore based Barber, fondly known as Pakistan’s ‘Edward Scissorhands’, has earned fans across the country owing to his phenomenal technique. He enjoys a strong fan base among the Pakistan cricketers which includes the likes of former captain Inzamam ul Haq, coach Mickey Arthur and cricketers like Umar Akmal and Sohail Tanvir.

Sadiq Ali clasps 15 sharp scissors in one hand and uses them all simultaneously to give his clients his signature ‘spicy’ haircut.

“It took me at least five years to hone my skills. [The scissors] were heavy and it was difficult to make them work all at one time,” said Ali, who has been a hairdresser for 15 years.

His small salon can always be seen brimming with customers, the entire day. Only the lucky 20 get to experience Ali’s famous ‘spicy haircut’. “I serve only 20 people in a day as I like to do my job perfectly”, says Ali.
